How A Session Runs
Five stages. One running order, every time.
You're not being taught for two hours. You're doing your own revision, with an expert in the room to stop you going down the wrong path — and a clear plan by the time you leave.
Settle in
Get set up with your required kit — laptop, earphones, something to write with — plus any past papers or homework you're working on.
Find the gap
You work independently while we circulate. We diagnose exactly where you're stuck, then point you to a resource to watch and exercises targeted at that gap.
Close the gap
You work through your assigned resource and exercises — real practice with a reason behind it.
Teach a partner
Paired with someone on a similar topic, you each explain what you've just learned — then write your own one-line Next Step.
Leave with a plan
We check and confirm each Next Steps note as a group, so you leave knowing exactly what to work on next.
Built for a 2-hour session, with time built in for settling in and running over.
Laptop or tablet
To watch assigned videos and work through online resources during the session.
Earphones or headphones
So you can watch your resource without disturbing the rest of the group.
Something to write with
A pen or pencil, plus paper if you don't have your own book.
Past papers, homework or a revision book are welcome but optional — if you don't have anything specific, we'll set you up with targeted practice on arrival.
Schedule
Two strands, kept separate.
Same format, same room, same tutor — run as two distinct sessions so resit and Year 11 students each get a room full of people at the same stage as them.
College resit students
First session: Fri 18 Sep, 4–6pm — Wed sessions (5–7pm) start Wed 23 Sep
A focused run-up to the November GCSE English & Maths resit — for post-16 students retaking the exam.
Year 10–11 students · Foundation tier
First session: Thu 17 Sep
Ongoing through the school year, building toward January mocks and the summer GCSE exams. Foundation tier only.

Every session runs for two hours, in groups of up to eight, with one tutor circulating throughout.

Year 5–9 · From October
Homework Hub for the younger years.
Same idea as Study Hub, scaled for age — students bring their own homework or revision, we diagnose the gap and work on it, in groups of up to 8.
Primary Homework Hub
Year 5–6. 1hr session, max 8 students.
Secondary Homework Hub
Year 7–9. 1hr session, max 8 students.
£15 per session pay-as-you-go, or £10 per session on a 4-session block. Primary and Secondary run on separate days once scheduled.
No fixed timetable yet — we're currently collecting interest ahead of the October intake. Tell us your child's year group and we'll be in touch once dates are confirmed.

Who's Running The Session
Fikile Guduza
"We don't just teach you what to do. We teach you why it works."
Fikile founded Mathsmotor after working across tutoring and training environments, including Remedy Tutors and Dale Carnegie — experience that shaped a teaching style built on diagnosis first, explanation second, and practice until it's proven, not just repeated.
Study Hub grew out of a simple observation: students don't need more hours of being taught at. They need someone who can watch how they think, catch the exact place it goes wrong, and get out of the way once it's understood.
